Born in Sydney on July 27, 1968, Julian McMahon was the son of former Australian Prime Minister Billy McMahon. He began his career as a model before transitioning to acting with a role in the 1989 soap The Power, the Passion. His breakout in Home and Away quickly propelled him into the public eye in Australia.

After moving to the U.S., McMahon joined the NBC soap Another World in 1993, and then took on a major role in Profiler. But his breakout American TV success came as the demonic Cole Turner on Charmed, whether he gained a cult following.

Nip/Tuck Cemented Julian McMahon as a Leading Man

McMahon’s most iconic role came in FX’s Nip/Tuck, where he starred as the charismatic yet deeply flawed plastic surgeon Dr.Christian Troy. His performance earned him a Golden Globe nomination in six seasons of acclaim alongside co-star Dylan Walsh.
