A four-time first-round pick and eight-time Pro Bowler, Philip Rivers broke nearly every passing record at, including 59,271 yards and 397 TDs, and sparked six playoff runs. He also holds franchise record for passing yards, touchdowns, completions, wins, and games played.
In the emotional video, he recalled “riding down that hill at Qualcomm,” and shared gratitude for the Chargers’ fans, coaches, and teammates, especially his o-line-including Nick Hardwick, Kris Dielman, Marcus McNeill, and Jeromey Clary.
Though he wrapped his final active season with the Colts in 2020, Rivers always saw ending his career as a Charger team moment. Now, leaning into retirement, he’s expected to continue coaching high school football in Alabama.
