Rapper GloRilla Arrested in Georgia 3 Shocking Twists

Why Was GloRilla Arrested Despite Being a Burglary Victim?

GloRilla arrested headlines rocked fans after the rapper was taken into custody on felony drug charges in Georgia, just days after police responded to a burglary attempt at her home. Officers discovered marijuana and controlled substance during their investigation, even though she wasn’t present during the break-in.

The 25-year-old star, whose real name is Gloria Hallelujah Woods, turned herself in to Forsyth County Jail on July 22. She was later released on a $22,260 bond.

Did the Burglary Lead to GloRilla’s Arrest?

Absolutely, and that’s the twist. According to authorities, police arrived at her residence early July 20 following a 1:30 a.m. call about a burglary in progress. An armed occupant reportedly fired at the suspects, who escaped without injury.

While securing the scene, officers allegedly noticed a strong smell of illegal drugs. This led to the Lanier Regional Drug Task Force being called in and a search warrant issued. Inside GloRilla’s bedroom closet, they say they found a “significant amount” of marijuana and another banned sustance.

As a result, GloRilla was arrested for felony marijuana possession and possession of a Schedule 1 controlled substance.

Despite being the target of a serious crime, GloRilla now faces legal trouble herself. Forsyth County Sheriff Ron Freeman stated that while his department is pursuing the burglars, they also have a duty to uphold the law regarding drug possession. “She’s a victim,” Freeman said, “but that doesn’t excuse what we found inside her home.”

Her legal issues don’t end there. This comes a year after her 2024 DUI arrest in Suwanee, GA, when officers noted bloodshot eyes and erratic driving. She told police she had been drinking but was “good to drive.”

GloRilla has yet to comment on her recent arrest. Meanwhile, she’s still scheduled to headline Glo Bash on July 25 in her hometown of Memphis, TN, a major concert event she organized herself.

Despite the storm, the rapper continues promoting new music, including her recent singles “Typa” and “Rain Down on Me.” Her fan base remains strong, but this arrest could pose a serious threat to her rising career.
