Dean Cain, Superman Actor, Sworn In as ICE Officer

Dean Cain, best known for playing Superman in the 1990s TV series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, has officially joined U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as a sworn officer. The 59-year-old actor announced his new role in a video posted to his social media accounts, where he emphasized his commitment to law enforcement and public safety.

“I’m a sworn law enforcement officer as well as a filmmaker,” Cain said in the 90-second clip. “I felt it was important to join our first responders to help secure the safety of all Americans—not just talk about it. So, I joined up.”

Cain used the opportunity to promote ICE’s ongoing recruitment drive, highlighting incentives like a $50,000 signing bonus, student loan repayment programs, and enhanced retirement packages. “If you want to help save America, ICE is arresting the worst of the worst and removing them from America’s streets,” he said. “I like that. I voted for that. They need your help, we need your help, to protect our homeland and our families.”

The announcement comes as ICE faces continued scrutiny over its enforcement practices. Cain’s recruitment pitch aligns with the agency’s recent hiring push, which aims to bring in 10,000 new agents following a funding increase backed by President Trump.

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem has championed the campaign, dubbed “Defend the Homeland,” urging Americans to join ICE in response to what she called the Biden administration’s “failed immigration policies.”

Cain, a longtime conservative commentator, has been vocal about his support for stricter border security. His new role marks a high-profile addition to ICE’s ranks as the agency seeks to expand its workforce.
