
Four officers were injured in a shooting on Homestead Drive in Gretna, Pittsylvania County, on Wednesday. Sources said shots were fired through a house during the incident. According to Southside News Today, none of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.
A large law enforcement response is underway, with helicopters deployed to assist. Agencies on the scene include the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office, Campbell County Sheriff’s Office, Amherst County Sheriff, Danville Police Department, Virginia State Troopers, Gretna Fire and Rescue, Hurt Fire Department, U.S. Marshals, and a Centra medical helicopter, WDBJ 7 reported.
Authorities have not yet issued an official statement on the incident.
