Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson address dating rumors on ‘Today’ show

Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson dismiss dating rumors during candid ‘Today’ show chat.

Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson, costars in the reboot of “The Naked Gun,” became the subject of dating speculation following their recent public appearances. The pair, promoting the film ahead of its August 1 release, joined “Today” coanchor Craig Melvin, who openly questioned whether the two were romantically involved.

On the July 29 broadcast, Melvin referenced “red carpet action” and a “passionate” onscreen kiss before asking, “What’s the deal here? You’re both single right now. There’s clearly chemistry on display throughout this film. Are you two an item?”

Neeson, 73, responded by calling out, “Craig!” while Anderson, 58, joked, “What? I don’t understand the question.” Neeson added, “I had never met Pamela before. We met on set. And we discovered we had a lovely, budding chemistry as two actors.”

During the July 22 London premiere, Anderson gave Neeson a cheek kiss and, while posing with a producer, placed his hand around her hip. Their gestures fueled further speculation of a possible romance.

Neeson described their chemistry as natural, saying, “Like, ‘Oh, this is nice. Let’s not mold this. Let’s just let it breathe,’ and that’s what we did.”

The actors have different relationship histories. Neeson was married to Natasha Richardson from 1994 until her death in 2009 at the age of 45. Anderson has been married four times: to Tommy Lee, Kid Rock, Rick Salomon, and Dan Hayhurst.

On “Today,” Melvin teased, “We’re watching the beginning of the breathing of a budding relationship,” as Anderson laughed. He added, “America’s here for it. We’re here for whatever this turns into.” Before wrapping the interview, Melvin complimented Anderson, saying she brought out “a different side of Liam Neeson” and invited them to return “when it’s official.”

Their playful interactions extended to another appearance. In an “Entertainment Tonight” interview, Anderson and Neeson nearly kissed before an “ET” reporter remarked that they were “so close.” Anderson responded, “Yeah, so close,” and Neeson said, “We’re pros.”

When asked about dating last year, Neeson told People, “No, in a word. I’m past all that.” Anderson’s Instagram post from the film’s July 29 New York premiere featured the caption, “Love is in the air,” which only added to the public curiosity.
