Trump Mobile Launches with $499 T1 Smartphone & $47 Plan

Trump Mobile

Today, the Trump Organization officially launched Trump Mobile, introducing a sleek, gold colored T1 smartphone and an accompanying subscription service known as the “47 Plan.” The new venture was unveiled at Trump Tower by Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump on June 16, 2025, marking the tenth anniversary of Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign launch.

The Trump mobile offering includes the T1 phone, priced at $499, which runs on Android 15 and features a bold 6.8 inch AMOLED display with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. The device is promoted as designed and built in the U.S., reflecting the organization’s emphasis on domestic manufacturing and “America-first” branding. Though the licensing agreement clarified that Trump Mobile is a brand partnership, not a manufacturing initiative by the Trump Organization itself.

The “47 Plan”, priced at $47.45/ month, echoes Trump’s status as both the 45th and current 47th President. This unlimited plan offers full 5G coverage via Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile networks, with the first 20GB provided at high speed. Additional perks include roadside assistance, telemedicine access, pharmacy benefits, and free international calling to over 100 countries, especially U.S. military bases.

Consumers can preorder the T1 phone with a $100 down payment; service via “bring your own device” SIM cards is already available. Trump Jr. emphasized that customer support lines would be staffed by U.S. based representatives, aiming to “disrupt the space” and deliver value “for real Americans”.

However, analysts point out that the Trump Mobile plan is priced higher than comparable budged MVNO offers: Visible charges $25/month, and Mint Mobile starts at $30/month for similar packages. The venture’s reliance on licensed branding raises questions about its long term viability in saturated market.

Critics have highlighted ethical concerns, pointing out potential conflicts of interest since the venture directly leverages the President’s name while he is in office. The Trump Organization earned more than $600 million in licensing revenue in 2024, with no signs of slowing.

As Trump mobile rolls out nationally this fall, its success with likely hinge on appealing to its targeted demographic while navigating scrutiny over pricing, branding, and ethics. Will it crave out a niche in the crowded telecom landscape? Only consumer response in the coming months will tell.
