Fairfield Police: 19-Year-Old Killed in Car Shooting

Fairfield police say a 19-year-old was fatally shot inside a parked car Friday night.

Fairfield police say a 19-year-old was killed after being shot multiple times while inside a vehicle. The Fairfield Police Department reported the incident occurred just after 8:30 p.m. Friday in a parking lot on the 1300 block of West Texas Street at its intersection with Pennsylvania Avenue. Officers determined the victim was seated in the car when someone approached and fired several shots.

Police said responding officers attempted lifesaving measures before transporting the victim to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The suspected shooter fled the scene before officers arrived.

According to the department, the ongoing investigation indicates the shooting was not a random act, and there is no current threat to the public. No additional details have been released.
