Nevada Man Arrested After Woman Found Dead at Remote California Campsite

Nevada man charged with murder after woman’s body found at remote California campsite.

A Nevada man was arrested after a woman was found dead early Friday at a remote campsite in Northern California, according to the Sierra County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies responded shortly after midnight to a rugged area south of Sierra Brooks, a rural community east of Downieville.

The sheriff’s office told Fox News Digital that the body was not located near the Sierra Brooks residential area. Upon arrival, authorities found a woman’s body and encountered a man described as “incoherent,” according to a press release.

Officials said the location was a dispersed area and not a developed camping site. The circumstances of the woman’s death prompted an immediate homicide investigation with assistance from outside law enforcement agencies.

Later that day, 36-year-old Jesse James Dallmann of Sun Valley, Nevada, was arrested at Eastern Plumas Hospital. Jail records show he faces charges of murder and inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant.

The identity of the woman has not been released. Authorities said they believe the incident was isolated and that there is no ongoing threat to the community.
