Orange County employee shot co-worker, fled to L.A., killed in police shooting.

An Orange County employee opened fire outside her workplace on Monday before being killed in a police shooting in Los Angeles County.

Huntington Beach police said the incident began around 7:15 a.m. at the California Closets store in Huntington Beach, where the woman worked. She fired shots at two co-workers, striking one and missing the other.

The shooter was identified as 29-year-old Lucero San Pedro-Castro of Baldwin Park. After wounding her colleague, she fled the scene in her vehicle, according to authorities.

Police said she was later stopped by officers in Los Angeles County, where she was fatally shot during the encounter.

The investigation remains ongoing.
