
Smoke was seen rising after a train derailment involving about 35 Union Pacific cars in Palo Pinto County near Gordon, Texas, officials said.

The incident occurred on Monday afternoon, with Union Pacific reporting the derailment happened around 2 p.m., about two miles east of Gordon. A company spokesperson confirmed there were no injuries.
The Palo Pinto Fire Department responded to the site and worked to contain a grass fire sparked by the derailment. Officials said there were no hazardous materials involved, easing earlier concerns.

Authorities reported no evacuation orders but urged residents to stay away from the area while crews continued their work.
