The Yankees-Twins series finale at Yankee Stadium has been delayed by rain.
Wednesday night’s game, originally scheduled for 7:05 p.m., will not start on time due to a wet forecast. The Yankees announced the delay at 6:08 p.m., shortly after covering the field with the tarp following batting practice.
New York is aiming to complete a three-game sweep of Minnesota. When play begins, Twins right-hander Joe Ryan will take the mound against Yankees rookie Cam Schlittler, who is making his sixth major league start.
Following the conclusion of Wednesday’s game, the Yankees are scheduled to travel to St. Louis for a three-game series against the Cardinals beginning Friday night.
