Epstein Files again take the spotlight even today as Rep. Tim Burchett is pushing on DOJ for complete transparency.
Epstein Files are back in the spotlight as GOP Rep. Tim Burchett renewed his call Sunday for the full release of Department of Justice documents tied to Jeffrey Epstein, saying the public deserves access, but not at the expense of victim privacy.
Burchet speaking on ABC’s This Week with Martha Raddatz, said he “applauds” President Trump and AG Pam Bondi for moving to unseal grand jury evidence in the Epstein Files, though he warned against exposing innocent people’s identities in the process.
When asked about Trump’s earlier claim that demands for the Epstein Files were “foolish,” Burchett replied,
“Was I a little ticked off he said that stuff? Sure but I’m a big boy.”
He noted Trump has now directed Bondi to act, calling it “a start”. But he added,
“I don’t think we’re ever going to get to the bottom, all of it, this town buries secrets.”
On whether Bondi should resign over the handling of the Epstein Files, Burchett said communication missteps happened, but he’s willing to give her a chance to finish strong.
